Welcome to Dinner With Amy
Hey there, fellow food lover! I’m Amy Richardson, the creator behind Dinner With Amy, and I’m so glad you’ve found your way here. If you’re anything like me, you know that the heart of every home is the kitchen—and nothing brings people together quite like a delicious, homemade meal. My core belief? Food is meant to be shared, savored, and celebrated, no matter your skill level or how busy life gets. Whether you’re searching for that perfect comfort food classic or want to try something a little adventurous, you’re in the right place!
A little about my journey: I’ve been fortunate to have my recipes featured in local magazines, win three regional recipe competitions, and collaborate with some of my favorite home cooks and chefs across the country. I’m also honored to be a guest on “Weeknight Wonders,” where I shared easy, crowd-pleasing meals live on air. Each step along the way has taught me that food is more than sustenance—it’s a bridge between people, cultures, and memories.
What I’ve learned most in my years of cooking and sharing? It’s not about perfection. It’s about the joy of trying, the laughter around the table, and the comfort that a home-cooked meal can bring at the end of a long day. Every dish has a story, and I love helping you create your own.

How It All Started
My passion for recipes began in my grandmother’s sunlit kitchen, where Sunday dinners were a family tradition. I remember standing on a stool, flour dusting my hair, as we rolled out dough for her famous chicken and dumplings. Those moments—filled with warmth, stories, and a little bit of kitchen chaos—inspired me to start experimenting on my own.
As I grew older, my love for food only deepened. In college, I became the go-to dinner party host, finding joy in discovering new flavors and sharing homemade creations with friends. What I love most about recipes is their power to connect—how a simple meal can turn strangers into friends and a table into a memory.
Starting Dinner With Amy was my way of documenting these moments, sharing what I’ve learned, and inviting others to join me in the kitchen. My hope is that my recipes inspire you to gather, cook, and make memories of your own.
Why You Can Trust Me
With over 12 years of hands-on cooking experience, I’ve worn many aprons: home cook, competition entrant, recipe developer, and food stylist. My background includes formal culinary workshops, years of trial and error, and the privilege of learning from chefs both in professional kitchens and in my own family’s home.
Every recipe I share is thoroughly tested in my kitchen—sometimes two or three times—before it lands on the blog. I believe in quality over quantity, which is why you’ll never find a half-baked idea here (unless it’s a gooey chocolate cake, of course). I do the research, test every technique, and tweak ingredients so that you can trust each step will work in your own kitchen, too.
Visual storytelling matters to me. I photograph every dish in natural light, aiming to capture not just how a recipe looks, but the feeling it brings to your table. Each photo is meant to inspire confidence—if I can make it, so can you.
When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll find me exploring local farmers markets, reading up on the latest cooking trends, or hiking with my dog, Scout. Staying curious and open to new experiences keeps my recipes fresh and inspired.
Whether you’re here for a quick dinner fix or looking to master a new technique, my promise is to bring you recipes that are approachable, reliable, and always made with heart.
