Ingredients
- 1 package Sister Schubert's Parker House Rolls, found in the freezer aisle, usually 12 rolls per package
- 1 bag Southern Style Chicken Nuggets, 16 nuggets, frozen
- 3 tablespoons honey, for a subtle sweetness
- 3 tablespoons melted butter, for brushing and binding
- Optional toppings: dill pickle chips, mayonnaise, spicy sauce, sesame seeds, or fresh chives
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit about 10 minutes before you plan to bake.
- Arrange the nuggets: Spread the frozen chicken nuggets on a baking sheet in a single layer, leaving space between each piece.
- Bake the chicken: Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and cooked through, stirring halfway through for even cooking.
- Thaw the rolls: Remove the rolls from the freezer and let them sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes until they are soft enough to work with but still holding their shape.
- Separate gently: Once thawed, carefully separate each roll and arrange them on a clean surface or cutting board.
- Slice the rolls: Carefully slice each Parker House roll horizontally in half, creating a top and bottom for each mini sandwich.
- Create the honey butter mixture: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter and honey until well combined and smooth.
- Layer the chicken: Place one cooked chicken nugget on the bottom half of each roll, then brush the honey butter mixture generously over the nugget and the inside of both roll halves.
- Finish and serve: Close each sandwich with the top half of the roll and arrange on a serving platter, drizzling any remaining honey butter over the tops if desired.
