Ingredients
- 24 ounces applesauce, unsweetened or lightly sweetened
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, optional, for a warm spiced flavor
- 1 tablespoon honey, optional, if you prefer extra sweetness
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract, optional, for subtle depth
Instructions
- Choose Your Applesauce: Select a high-quality applesauce from your grocery store or use homemade applesauce if you have it on hand. Unsweetened varieties work best so you control the sweetness level.
- Mix in Optional Flavors: If desired, stir in ground cinnamon, honey, or vanilla extract into the applesauce and combine well until the flavors are evenly distributed throughout.
- Pour Into Molds: Carefully pour or spoon the applesauce mixture into popsicle molds, filling each cavity about three-quarters full. Leave a small amount of space at the top to account for slight expansion during freezing.
- Insert Sticks: Place popsicle sticks into the center of each mold, pushing them down gently until they stand upright and stable in the applesauce.
- Freeze Overnight: Transfer the molds to your freezer and allow them to freeze for at least 8 hours or preferably overnight until completely solid and firm to the touch.
- Remove and Store: Once frozen, run warm water over the outside of the molds for a few seconds to loosen the bites, then gently push them out from the bottom. Store finished bites in a freezer-safe container or bag for up to 3 months.
- Prep Time: 15 minutes
