Description
These simple peanut butter Cheerio bars feature a delicious combination of creamy peanut butter, sweet honey, and crunchy Cheerios pressed into an easy no-bake treat. Perfect for busy weeknights, school lunches, or whenever you need a quick and satisfying snack that requires minimal ingredients and effort.
Ingredients
- 3 cups Cheerios, measure by volume after opening the box
- 3/4 cup peanut butter, creamy or chunky, your preference
- 1/2 cup honey, raw or processed honey both work beautifully
- Optional toppings, chocolate chips, mini M&Ms, sprinkles, or melted chocolate drizzle
- Optional add-ins, chopped almonds, shredded coconut, or crushed graham crackers
Instructions
- Combine Peanut Butter and Honey: In a medium saucepan over low heat, warm the peanut butter and honey together for about 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently until the mixture is smooth and fully combined.
- Mix in Cheerios: Remove the pan from heat and add the 3 cups of Cheerios, stirring gently but thoroughly until every cereal piece is coated with the peanut butter-honey mixture, about 1-2 minutes.
- Press into Pan: Line a 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly butter it, then transfer the mixture and press it down firmly with the back of a spoon or your hands until it forms an even layer about 1/2 inch thick.
- Cool and Set: Let the bars cool at room temperature for 15-20 minutes until they've firmed up slightly, then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or freeze for 15 minutes) until they're firm enough to cut cleanly.
- Cut and Serve: Once set, cut the bars into squares or rectangles using a sharp knife, wiping the blade between cuts for cleaner edges, and store in an airtight container.
