Pasta Chips (Fun & Easy Snack Idea)

Pasta Chips (Fun & Easy Snack Idea)

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Description

These crispy, golden pasta chips are a savory snack made from bow tie pasta tossed with olive oil, parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder, then baked until irresistibly crunchy. Perfect for movie nights, lunch boxes, or anytime you need a quick and satisfying treat, they’re customizable, fun to make, and absolutely addictive.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups dry bow tie pasta (farfalle), the ideal shape for even crisping
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, for coating and flavor
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese, adds that signature savory punch
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, dried or fresh blended herbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, for extra depth
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper, adjust to your preference
  • 1 cup warm marinara sauce, for dipping, optional

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add the bow tie pasta. Cook for about 2 minutes less than the package directions call for, around 6-8 minutes total, so the pasta is slightly underdone and will crisp up nicely in the oven. Drain well and pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. Coat with Oil and Seasoning: Transfer the cooked pasta to a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil, tossing gently to coat evenly. Sprinkle the grated parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper over the pasta. Toss again until every piece is well coated with the seasoning mixture.
  3. Spread on Baking Sheet: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Spread the seasoned pasta in a single layer, making sure the pieces are not overlapping. This ensures even baking and maximum crispiness.
  4. Bake Until Crispy: Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for about 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the pasta is golden brown and very crispy throughout. Watch carefully during the last few minutes to prevent burning.
  5. Cool Before Serving: Remove from the oven and let the pasta chips cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes. They will continue to crisp up as they cool, so don't worry if they seem slightly soft when hot.
